Penny End is a lovely cottage, in a quiet but convenient location. The North Western Fells and Cumbrian coast are accessible. There are plenty of low level and high level walks nearby. The cottage is very comfortable, plentiful hot water and central heating/log burner if needed, and towels, bedding etc are of a high quality. Svea was very welcoming and friendly. The sheep, lambs and hens were a delight to feed. We hope to return.

Spacious well-equipped cottage with private parking. Very quiet location, Svea has put together an informative booklet about a good choice of walks from the door, (Loweswater, Fellbarrow). Penny End is also close also to Crummock Water, Buttermere, Cockermouth and also the coast - the Maryport Promenade parkrun is a good one!! It’s a great area of the lakes with lots to offer.

We had a lovely time staying in the cottage. It feels very cosy and peaceful. Feeding the lambs was great fun. Svea was a very warm and welcoming host and gave us lots of great recommendations.

Wonderful place surrounded by beauty. Lovely host was very accommodating and helpful. House was warm and comfortable with all the kitchen essentials needed. All was clean and well appointed. We really enjoyed our stay here, especially feeding the chickens.
