Recently refurbished and tastefully furnished cottage, Penny End is perfect for couples or families with one or two kids.
it boasts a small but perfectly formed kitchen with dishwasher, two ring induction hob, combination microwave and slow cooker, catering to all your cooking needs.
You find the dining table and comfortable sofa downstairs, with a wood burning stove for extra warmth in the colder months. There is a larger sofa with TV/DVD in the upstairs snug. The work space in the snug is suitable for a laptop. There is a comfortable king size bed in the main bedroom, with plenty of storage space in the wardrobes and chest of drawers. The snug can serve as a second bedroom, sleeping one person on the sofa bed, plus an extra on a trundle bed if required.
The entrance boasts a large boot room - perfect for taking off wet jackets and walking boots. Guests are also welcome to store their bikes, paddleboards or kayaks (!!) in this secure space.
Penny End is in close proximity to two Wainwright summits, which you can walk to directly from the door step. Loweswater is also only a short walk away. Other local attractions within a short drive are Crummock Water and Buttermere with easy access to Haystacks for hillwalkers; Ennerdale Water, St Bees and the Solway coastline.
Whinlatter Mountain Forest is a great destination for mountain bikers.
Cockermouth is only 3 miles away and caters for all needs of daily life (shops, doctors, leisure centre etc). Maryport in close proximity marks the start of Hadrian's defences in Northern Britain and boasts a great Roman Museum, as well as an aquarium.
